Das geheimnis des Hutmachens
Josef Kollmann ist in Kärnten der einzige Hutmacher weit und breit, der diese Fertigkeiten, das Können, die Leidenschaft und das Wissen noch pflegt. Der Gang durch die Werkstatt ist ein Spaziergang durch Jahrzehnte Kärntner Hut- und Handwerksgeschichte. Die Werkbänke, die Maschinen und Hunderte Formen für alle erdenklichen Kopfgrößen und Modelle, Stoffe, Muster, Materialien sind wahre Schätze und in dieser Vielfalt nur noch hier zu finden.
In der Werkstätte lagern 20.000 Rohlinge und unzählige Muster. Manche der sogenannten Rastel und Köpfe, mit denen der Hut in Form gebracht wird, sind über hundert Jahre alt.
